The Panel Lamp emerged from an ongoing interest in stab binding, a traditional bookbinding technique. The shade is made from long rectangular strips of vulcanized fibre which is derived from natural cellulose pulp. This pliable material is sturdy enough for the stitching process and its translucent quality makes it a pleasant diffuser for light. The result is a hand-sewn shade that emits a warm glow when illuminated and a compelling pattern when not in use.

The Panel Lamp was a part of 28 Lights, a group show that featured works from 28 artists and designers. The show took place at The Hunt Vintage in Los Angeles.
