The Tool Basket was selected to participate in Karimoku’s 2020 exhibition at its Tokyo Showroom. The exhibition featured pieces by twelve members of Basketclub and responded to the uses behind traditional Japanese woven baskets such as carrying, drying, storing, cooking and cleaning.
The Tool Basket is constructed using Kagome, a traditional Japanese triaxial weaving technique. It features the unexpected intersection of a traditional basket and a toolbox-like handle. The result is a unique container which is both useful and evocative.
