The Gather Bowl is constructed using Kagome, a traditional weaving technique that forms a lattice of interlocking hexagons. Through repeated gestures, slight variations in the lattice give rise to areas of negative curvature. The surface lifts and falls into an undulating form, like fabric caught mid-motion, resulting in a vessel that is both functional and expressive.
Gather Bowl was a part of Double Entendre: Soft Goods. Shown during FORMAT Design Week in Montreal.
